Apparatus and method of unmanned surveillance using an omni-directional camera

An unmanned monitoring apparatus using an omni-directional camera and a method thereof are provided to directly detect and sample an area, where movement is detected, within an inputted image and estimate movements and directions, thereby reducing time required to process the image and minimizing time required to check an abnormal status and transmission image capacity. An unmanned monitoring apparatus includes of steps of receiving the image of 360 degrees sight; selecting an area, where movement is detected, as a movement detection area from the received image of 360 degrees sight(515,540); calculating an angle based on the center of the image of 360 degrees sight for the center of the movement detection area and performing rotation for compensating the calculated angle so as for the movement detection area to be a forward image(545); making the rotated image standardized so as to be included in the preset certain standards(550); and outputting the standardized image to a preset certain destination(555).
