Administrative and Legal Control of Noise and Its Effects (Part I)

The paper reviews the law in Britain governing the damaging effect of noise on the individual. Conclusions are drawn not only in respect of this matter but also in respect of a review of the law governing noise nuisances. There is already evidence that complaints about noise nuisances are beginning to fall off. It is suggested that this may be due to the operation of administrative and legal restrictions in respect of environmental noise.
