RF adjustment of the accelerating system of the URAL-15 linear accelerator

The design of the basic parts of the accelerating system is described. The experimental procedure for studying the IE-cavity system is described. The distribution of the maximum amplitude of the accelerating field over the gaps of the accelerating system is reported. A nominal field of 160 kV/cm, (averaged over the gap) is achieved. Breakdown occurs at 200 kV/cm.
