Discrete Event Models in Batch Control

An automata-based approach for the modeling of batch plants as well as products is pre ented. The different units of a plant are modeled as bounded Petri nets and products are r epresented by way of their recipes. With the focus on synchronization and booking issues, we propose general Petr i net building-blocks for the construction of these recipes. Both, resource and recipe models support formal superviso r synthesis for dynamic resource allocation according to the Ramadge-Wonham framework.
