Comparison of WDM Bandwidth Loading Using Individual Transponders, Shaped, and Flat ASE Noise

Channel emulation is compared for 100-Gb/s PDM-QPSK from commercial transponders with channel-like spectrally carved noise and flat noise bands. The performance is evaluated in experiments and simulations on standard SMF and TW-RS DWDM transmission links.
