Design of LED Synchronization Display System Based on IWT Image Compression Technology

There is an inconsistency between real-time display and communication bandwidth in the full color LED large-scale screen synchronization display system.The image compression method with integer wavelet transform(IWT) algorithm used in this paper could greatly decrease the cost of data transmission.The IWT algorithm which only involves integer addition,subtraction and shift operation,avoids the deficiency of complicated floating-point operation in most current image compression and decompression algorithms,so it could be applied to the display screen controller to decompress image rapidly.The experiment shows that excellent image compression effect is achieved with this algorithm and only few logic elements are consumed in VLSI hardware design.At the same time,rapid image reconstruction speed meets the requirement of image real-time display in synchronization LED display screen.
