This chapter covers the design process from Conception to Disposal and offers typical management organization which could deliver the process. This chapter also describes how Computer Aided Design (CAD) and drawing practice fits into the management organization/design process and provides guidance on the implementation of CAD into an organization and through life considerations. This chapter also outlines drawing standards and has historical information on the introduction of BS8888 in 2000 which replaced BS308 and the differences between them. It is important to note that although BS8888 has been in existence for some 19 years BS 308 is still widely used.
