Study on a Traveling Wave USM with Bi-Contact Surfaces

The feasibility of driving by bi-contact surfaces was proved in theory.A rotary traveling wave USM with bi-contact surfaces was designed and manufactured.Moreover,the prototype was tested and the experimental results proved the feasibility of driving by bi-contact surfaces farther.The unloaded speed of the motor can attain 130 r/min and the output-torque is 1.6 times as high as the one-sided traveling wave USM.
