Phase Errors Correction of OCDMA En-/decoders based on Reconstruction Equivalent Chirp Technique

Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) have shown great potential in the realization of high-chip-count en-/decoders for optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) systems. Our technology, the so-called reconstruction-equivalent-chirp (REC) technology, has provided a sample way to realize the FBG-based en-/decoders. Phase errors, which are an important issue in the fabrication process, are discussed, and a REC-based error correction technique is demonstrated to compensate the long-distance phase errors. En-/ decoders with 511 chips are experimentally demonstrated as an example. The en-/decoders proposed in this paper are expected to play an important role in the future OCDMA systems.
