THE ROLE OF GPS IN PRECISE TIME AND FREQUENCY DISSEMINATION

Bruce Penrod is a senior engineer with Austron, lnc., in Austin, Texas, a manufacturer of precise time and frequency instrumentation systems. Penrod has extensive radio frequency experience with precise time and frequency dissemination via Omega, Loran-C. and GPS, and has designed disciplining algorithms for steering quartz and atomic clocks from these time and frequency standards. He holds two patents related to disciplined frequency standards and VLF antennas. He received a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
