Strengthening of Trussed Steel Joint System at the Region of Forceful Snow Loads

Buildings have been repaired or strengthened for many different reasons throughout of their service life. There can be many reasons for repairing or strengthening buildings. One reason of strengthening of structure is the improper selection of sectional shape and dimensions of structures that given in their projects. In this study, the trussed steel joint system of the structure has been evaluated that has been used as gym. The projects of trussed steel joint system and the results of measurement that made on the spot have been compared. It has been concluded that sectional dimensions and profiles are improper to the system’s project. The calculation has been made as a result of improper sectional dimensions and profiles of trussed steel roof system. Steel members have been used for strengthening. Thus, foreseen sectional areas and required safety level of trussed steel joint system has been provided as given in its project. Strengthening and construction principals for this steel roof system have been given in this study. This study will contribute to future studies for strengthening of steel structures.
