The movement of circular cylindrical bodies while under the action of a liquid jet

A number of industries use machines to sort or to separate mixed components. A simple two-dimensional mathematical model is presented which enables designers to predict the movement of a cylindrical body while it is under the impact of a liquid jet. The calculated results compare well with experimental values. Improvements in the mathematical model are discussed.
