In part of developing the reliability-based railway bridge design code, a research for the statistical analysis of the load effects is in progress. Statistical estimates using various methods such as the method of probability paper, the extreme distribution of the probability density function, the constancy of extreme distribution and the 95% value of the maximum moment are compared to the design moment of the live load for the high-speed rail bridge. In this paper, some of the results obtained by the statistical methods for the bridge service life are presented and compared to the design moment. This study is a basis for estimating the reliability index by representing the load effect of live load of high-speed rail traffic.
