Kinetics in Three-Phase Reactors

Abstract Kinetic measurements were made into two types of three-phase mixed reactors, one equipped with a stationary basket and the other with rotating baskets. The results were compared with those obtained from a liquid-full fixed-bed reactor, where the gaseous reactant was predissolved in liquid. The comparison shows that the external mass transfer resistances can be neglected in such mixed reactors, but the kinetic parameters can be in error owing to incompletely wetted catalyst.
