A Kraftfahrzeugtur- and armrest assembly, using a thin plate which is vertically rigid and laterally collapsible. The plate consists of a mold of overlapping parallel struts, the four-sided cells with a first set of opposite internal acute angle and a second set having to opposing obtuse angle. The obtuse angle span a direction that is normal to the vehicle door and allow the plate easier to limit the force transmission from a side impact force. The struts are coupled to a frame, wherein the coupling struts can be varied in the cross-sectional area for further defining the lateral stiffness of the plate.
