Using the similarity method for calculating heat fluxes and friction stresses in the vicinity of the plane of symmetry of blunt bodies within the framework of the complete Navier-Stokes equations

Three-dimensional super- and hypersonic viscous gas flows past blunt bodies at an angle of incidence are investigated in the vicinity of the plane of symmetry. The method of investigation is developed on the basis of a combination of a numerical algonthm for solving the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations and an analog method which makes it possible to obtain the solutions of three-dimensional problems by calculating the two-dimensional flows in the neighborhood of the equivalent axisymmetric bodies. The accuracy of the method proposed is estimated by comparing the results obtained using this method with the more precise results obtained by solving the three-dimensional equations numerically
