Application of the niche genetic algorithm in antenna array pattern synthesis

Niche genetic algorithm(NicheGA) based on sharing function overcomes the shortcomings of premature and bad local searching capability existed in simple genetic algorithm(SGA),so that it can well preserve the diversity of populations.This paper improves the parameters of NicheGA and applies the improved genetic algorithm to pattern synthesis of linear antenna array.Compared with the result of Chebyshev pattern synthesis theory,the simulation result indicates that this NicheGA method performs perfectly in the pattern synthesis of low sidelobe linear antenna array and null steering,laying down a foundation for application of other different array antennae.
