Thermal modeling of mineral insulator in paints for energy saving

The limitation of energy sources and the need to conserve it makes it necessary to use any possible approach to have lower energy consumption. A proper paint is able to avoid wasting energy in different industries and buildings. In this work, a two-dimensional model of an enclosure with various boundary conditions has been simulated with the FLUENT software for flow field and temperature distribution in a room with Mineral coating's paint. Effects of the paint ceramic coating and the mineral paint which vary according to the changes in the positions such as the change in the wall temperature and the absorption coefficient have been studied and results were compared. The results showed that the coating with mineral particles has an important role in the thermal insulation and leads to a 17% decrease in energy consumption.
