γ-rays from 2+ States in 16O

The 9.84 MeV and 11.51 MeV levels in 16O have been excited by the 12C(α, γ)16O reaction. The ground state radiation widths of these levels have been measured as 0.02 ± 0.01 eV and 0.9 ± 0.2 eV respectively. These values are discussed in terms of the extreme single particle and collective models.
