Method and apparatus for processing a vedio signal

PURPOSE: A video signal decoding method and an apparatus thereof are provided to omit pictures which is not actually referred and residual information having high redundancy. CONSTITUTION: A video signal decoding method comprises the following steps of: determining an intra reference block which exists at the current time by using intra motion information of an inter reference unit; and decoding the current block by using the intra reference block. The intra reference block is determined by adding the intra motion information to the current block corresponding to the inter reference unit.
