Terminal Area Energy Management(TAEM) phase is a phase of space shuttle reentry. The purpose of this phase is to control the kinetic energy and potential energy state of the vehicle and enable the vehicle to achieve the proper conditions of the approach and landing phase for a successful landing. The guidance controls the vehicle through adjustment of the height, speed and flight track of the vehicle to get preference energy. The predicted trajectory design is the base of the guidance system, all control command produced by the guidance system depend on the predicted trajectory. So it is very important to space shuttle in order to accomplish the flight through TAEM successfully.TAEM is further divided into four distinct sub phases. These sub phases,in order of occurrence, are Sturn,Acquisition,Heading alignment, and Prefinal Approach. This paper studies further on predicted trajectory design for space shuttle(TAEM) phase, and makes simulation verification. The simulation result indicates that the predicted trajectory designed in this paper is approved to be satisfactory.
