Numerical investigation in cold flow field on the influence of the injection velocity from the center body of the trapped vortex combustor

The trapped vortex combustor is attracted attention on its performance of low flow resistance, strong combust stability and low oil limity. The numerical investigation has been taken on the field in and out of the trapped vortex cavity of the trapped vortex combustor in cold flow field with different velocity of the nozzle located on the forbody and afterbody. The result shows that the stability of the trapped vortex is conformed and the trapped vortex becomes uniform. The total press loss on the outlet of the combustor is increased with the speed of the injection gets bigger. The press in the trapped vortex cavity is increased too. The mass average velocity in the trapped vortex cavity becomes higher when the injection speed crease on the forebody, the turbulence increase too. But when the injection speed on the after body increases, the mass average velocity in the trapped vortex cavity becomes low and the becomes high, the turbulence becomes low.
