Robust Design of Plasmonic Waveguide Using Gradient Index and Multiobjective Optimization

An efficient approach for robust optimization is applied to design a plasmonic waveguide in order to improve its performance and robustness simultaneously. In order to achieve this goal, the gradient index (GI) and multiobjective optimization methods based on the genetic algorithm are employed. The design variables are the geometrical parameters of the plasmonic waveguide, and the objective functions are its figure of merit and GI, respectively.
