Excess molar enthalpies for (water+a fluoroalkanol)

Abstract Excess molar enthalpies H m E of water + 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol ( tfe ), + 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropanol ( pfp ), + 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanol ( tfip ), + 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol ( hfip ), + 1-propanol, and + 2-propanol have been measured at 298.15 K with an LKB flow microcalorimeter. Only (water + hfip ) mixes exothermically for the whole composition range, while the other three examples of (water + a fluoroalkanol) mix endothermically except for the highly water-rich region.
