A fast sequential source separation algorithm for digital cochannel signals

We propose a fast sequential-estimation algorithm for separating multiple cochannel digital signals using an antenna array with unknown array response. We present simulation results comparing speed and bit error rate (BER) performance with an existing fast joint-estimation algorithm, the iterative least squares with projection (ILSP) algorithm. The new algorithm proves to be faster with only a modest degradation in BER. In addition, convergence speed is very robust with respect to additive noise.
