High performance 40GHz InP Mach-Zehnder modulator

A novel design was used to fabricate a Telcordia-qualified 40GHz InP Mach-Zehnder modulator. Record low loss, record high extinction ratio, and low-voltage single-end drive over a 40nm wavelength band with open-loop phase/bias control was achieved.
