A Wavelet Image Denoising Based on the New Threshold Function

A novel thresholding function is presented based on the wavelet put forward by Donoho and Johnstone. This new thresholding function proposed to overcome hard wavelet threshold function is not continuous. Wavelet soft threshold function constant deviation and derivative discontinuity defects. It is clear in physics meaning and simple in expression. Experimental results show that the new thresholding function denoising resulting in minimum mean square error (MSE) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) is superior to the traditional soft and hard threshold function.
