Design of the CPW in-line /spl lambda//4 stepped-impedance resonator bandpass filter

A design method of compact multi-stage bandpass filters (BPFs) using /spl lambda//4 stepped-impedance resonators (SIRs) which are arranged in line on coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented. Two- and six-stage Chebyshev CPW BPF designs with J- and K-inverters are demonstrated by using electromagnetic field simulators. Overall transmission and reflection characteristics of the BPFs are calculated based on the equivalent circuits obtained. The frequency characteristics agreed well with the theoretical results and validity of the design method is confirmed.
