Densely Calcified Pilocytic Astrocytoma in the Sellar/Suprasellar Region

Pilocytic astrocytoma is a type of low grade glioma occurring mostly in children and adolescents. Thin calcifications may be seen within pilocytic astrocytomas. However dense calcifications are quite rare. We present the case of young boy presenting with densely calcified mass in the sellar/suprasellar region which was surgically excised and later on proved to be a pilocytic astrocytoma on histopathological analysis. doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.4021/ijcp55w
