Direct iterative RPA calculations. Applications to ethylene, benzene and cytosine

Abstract We show that the random phase approximation (RPA) to excitation energies and transition moments can be solved for very large dimensions of the RPA matrices using a direct approach. Sample calculations are carried out for ethylene, benzene and cytosine.
