My boss the robot.

The article discusses human-robot work teams. An example is given of engineer Michael Dawson-Haggerty of Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute and his engineering partner who won a contest to see whether their robot, Spitfire, could weld a piece of metal faster than a team of experts. Topics include the economic consequences of human's ability to work with a robot and vice versa, the historical use of robots in the manufacturing industry, and Spitfire's ability to not only learn from human workers, but also to instruct them.
