HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE. PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS

Since 1983 the use of high-performance concrete has steadily increased throughout the world, particularly in the construction of tall buidings and bridges. This work summarizes recent developments in the field and should help engineers appreciate the potential of high-performance concrete in construction. It covers new materials for producing higher strength concrete, production methods, mechanical properties, non-mechanical properties such as durability, and the effects of material properties on the structural design and performance of concrete. Examples and case studies from around the world are also included.
