Comparative study of existing methods for improving the energy efficiency of the system traction of subway

This article provides a comprehensive evaluation and comparison of currently available solutions for the recovery and proper management of energy in regenerative braking subway transportation. In this article we compared the different strategies currently to increase the utilization of regenerated braking energy of trains, such as stationary energy storage in batteries or supercapacitors, the use of inverter substations reclaimers energy as a way to return the surplus energy regenerated to the distribution network and implementation of genetic algorithm.
