Poisonous Plants of the United States

Abstract Poisonous plants cause significant economic losses to the livestock industry throughout the world from death losses, abortions, birth defects, increased veterinary care, and other related factors. This chapter is not intended to be all-inclusive, but provides current research information on important poisonous plants in the United States, and this resource will be useful to researchers, veterinarians, teachers, land managers, extension agents, and the general public.
