Simulation-based analysis of inventory strategies in lean supply chains

Abstract This work aims to analyze different strategies of inventory management for finished products in a supplier-customer relationship in an LSCM environment. In order to perform this analysis, a computational simulation was used to model four different strategies. The results were measured using the lead time and service level indicators in four different configurations considering stochastic behaviors in the supplier and customer production processes. With the theoretical implementation of the conceptual model, we obtained different situations that help in the understanding of the applicability of this approach in real cases. The research further corroborates to support the decision-making of the best lean strategy for finished products by promoting success throughout the supply chain.
