해인사 팔만대장경 판고의 자연공조 유동 해석

The Tripitaka Koreana made in years 1236 through 1251 have been stored in Storage Hall of Haein Temple since 1398. Among the reasons fer retaining its original form for 750 years, the special structural feature of the Storage Hall as a national treasure no. 52 may play a important role. Different size and shape of the windows at each wall of the storage hall, different height of each side wall, arrangements shelves in the hall, and location of the storage hall in the temple, among others, are the special features the original architects considered carefully 600 years ago. In the present study, computational flow analysis has been performed to clarify the reasons for different height of each wall around the Storage Hall. It has been known from the study that the present wall height is an optimal height for the natural ventilation through the Halls.
