The range of advanced wireless technology and systems in modern wireless communication scenarios is wide and growing ever wider. In this and other evolving wireless environments, the linearization of RF transmitter power amplifier has become a major research and development goal. This presentation reviews some key RF transmitter power amplifier linearisation issues. Aspects of some modern linearization schemes, and where linearization research and technology is headed, are presented. Quantifying lineariser's performance in real modern physical layer wireless interfaces through the percentage linearization measure is also addressed.
