Polyostotic fibrous dysplasia with craniofacial involvement: A case report

Fibrous dysplasia is an idiopathic skeletal lesion that results in the replacement of all the components of cancellous bone by fibrous tissue containing abnormal-appearing bone in varying amounts. Three clinical types of fibrous dysplasia identified: Monostotic type, effects a single bone and generated 70% of all cases. Polyostotic type effects more than one bone and seen in %20. Mc Cune Albright syndrome is an another form that is a clinical condition displays endocrine involvement. Radiographically, periphery of the fibrous dysplasia lesions is often unclear and internal structure of the bone may be radiolucent, more radiopaque or mixture of both.
