Problems and Solutions of Circum-Taihu Lake Economic Zone Based on Its Features

There are six important economic features of the Circum-Taihu Lake Economic Zone,i.e. mechanical-electric integration and information technology are becoming more popular among the leading industries; industrial structure is advanced gradually; village-run industry is developing rapidly; the industrial scale is becoming large; there is a marked tendency toward market economy,modernization and globalization; the cultivation and construction of the market are highly effective. However,there are some problems in this area: the ratio of high and new technology in general industry is relatively low; there is a lack of the techniques of independent intellectual property rights,which results in the low the contribution to the development of science and technology; the development of the tertiary industries is relatively slow; the levels of open-economy development within the area are imbalanced. Measures to solve these problems are put forward in the paper.
