A Multi-Channel Sensing and Transmission strategy for efficient spectrum access

Recent research shows that in order to achieve high efficiency, the durations of sensing and transmission periods of secondary user (SU) should be determined smoothly with the collision being taken into consideration. By analyzing the tradeoff between spectrum utilization of SU and the collision with primary user (PU), this paper proposes a new Multi-Channel Sensing and Transmission (MCST) strategy to improve the performance. The simulation shows that MCST could achieve higher spectrum utilization with a relatively lower collision rate comparing with the Single-Channel strategy.
