Characteristics of a successful DSS user's needs vs. builder's needs

As decision support systems become more popular, the need for the development of such systems becomes more obvious. This paper takes an in-depth look at the decision support systems and studies their purpose and properties. By investigating the user’s needs, a set of desirable characteristics for a successful DSS are identified. These characteristics are then used to identify a set of essential tools for the builder of the decision support system in order to help him/her to develop a successful decision support system.
