Predicting Pressure Fluctuations on Ship Hulls Due to Intermittently Cavitating Propellers

The pressure fluctuations induced by the cavitating propellers was calculated by placing the sources and dipoles whose strength is known on the blade surface and the wake surface.The true shape of the hull can be considered by distributing dipoles on the hull surface.The pressure fluctuations on hull surface can be calculated through Bernoulli's equation.In order to compare the numerical results by the proposed method with the existing experimental data,the pressure fluctuations generated by the propellers on a flat plate are presented.
