Post-optimality analysis of performance of computer networks in flexible manufacturing systems

Abstract Computer and control network is a key component in a flexible manufacturing system. As such its design, specification and evaluation issues are critical in nature. The research discussed in this paper focuses on the issue computer and control network performance under variations in independent parameters such as, balance of workload, ratio of communication to processing workloads and probability density functions of processing and communication times. A case example is used to illustrate the above effects.
