A calculating method for cable tensions of stayed girder bridges is derived taking the static-load flexural energy of stayed girder bridge structures as the objective function. Based on this, the nonlinear optimized back-running analysis of the cable tensions is carried out taking the contraction and creep of concrete into consideration, thereby determining the necessary cable tensions during construction. An illustrative example about the method is given.
