Weak-Inversion Current Reduction

The need for weak-inversion current reduction is quite important for battery operated applications, since weak-inversion currents become dominant in standby periods. Therefore, weak-inversion currents will determine maximum standby times as has been discussed in section 5.3. This chapter will focus on weak-inversion current reduction techniques. Existing and new weak-inversion reduction techniques pass in review. To find new reduction techniques a classification has been developed, which enables a systematic search to find all possible weak-inversion current-reduction solutions. This classification is presented in the next section.
