The present study has been conducted to study the performance of dedicated outdoor air handling unit. Conventional air-conditioning system combined of cooling coil and reheat that has been installed in a factory has been replaced by dedicated outdoor air handling unit which consists of pre-cooler, dehumidification and after-cooler. The study indicates that the latter can reduce cooling capacity by 36%, and heating by 72%. By combining dedicated outdoor air-conditioning and heat pump, a new four-season dedicated outdoor air handling unit has been developed. Amount of energy saved and conditions when this new system is superior to conventional vapor-compression cooling system have been presented.
