Space-Time Block Code Designs for Two-User MIMO X Channels

In this paper, we study space-time block code (STBC) designs for two-user MIMO X channels to achieve full diversity when the inter-user interference is cancelled by the group zero-forcing receiver. To do so, we first propose a design criterion and then propose a systematic design to satisfy the criterion so that it achieves full diversity. The code rate approaches one when encoding length gets large. We prove that full diversity can be achieved by the proposed STBC without the channel information at the transmitters. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the theory.
