Key Changes of Design on Financial Shared Service: Lessons of Chinese Group Companies

This paper arises out of Renmin University’s ongoing research after current developments in the finance function enabled by information and communication technology of China. It sets out to summarize from Chinese group companies’ examples of the current state of the Shared Services Concept as applied to the finance activities. Few companies have fully tapped the potential of financial shared operations. We have generalized some key design changes which are critical for financial shared service under the transformation of the finance function in Chinese firms.
