GPS Application in PHS Location Based Services

The realization of the Location Based Services(LBS) based on the mobile communication terminal needs the support of location technology and a great deal of related information.Several major mobile location techniques in the mobile networks are introduced in this paper.In PHS(Personal Handy-phone System) network the Cell-ID location technique is mostly used and this location technique depends on the base stations' position information of PHS.In different instances different methods were used to measure the positions of PHS base stations and to collect the POI(Point of Interest) datum in Changzhou City.And the portable GPS receiver played a great role in the measurement.
