Influence of wire-framed spectacles on specific absorption rate within human head for 450 MHz personal radio handsets

Finite difference time domain simulations demonstrate that the 1-g maximum specific absorption rate (SAR) within the head of an adult user holding a 450 MHz 1 W personal radio fitted with a monopole antenna rose from 4.17 to 6.70 W/kg when wire-framed spectacles were worn. There was an associated relocation of maximum power dissipation towards the midline axis of the head. 1-g SAR within the eyes fell by an average of 33% with the spectacles in place.
